What do leaves say in the fall?

Sample of the first half of the book is provided below.

This children’s picture book is a leaf lullaby – told in nine stanzas of rhyming couplets – spanning the fresh green buds of spring though to the full glory of autumn colours. This educational lullaby offers elevated language and promotes a sense of joy and confidence.

Did You See Us?

Chilled winds of winter, a fading hush. In the forest warm breezes rush through the branches once brittle and bare, fresh sprouts of spring nudge through with care.

Yawning buds thirst for the sun their newborn journey just begun. Basking in the warmth and glow, snug to trees they stretch and grow.

Aspens tremble willows sway with the rhythm of the day. Seasons end and begin anew, spring sipping on the morning dew.

On the winds they hear a song inviting them to waltz along. A tickling breeze sets leaves a giggle, stems attached their tips a wiggle.

Strong and charming, proud and brave playfully they nod and wave. In happy hums they softly mutter, in teasing winds they twist and flutter.

In turning shades from greens to gold and reds and oranges bright and bold. In praise of beauty, they know the reason, they know the time and turn of season.

In the blush they brave the fall. Listen, hear their cheerful call. Eager sure their spirits bright, their courage strong their worries light.

Twirling whirling on the breeze joyous dance with such ease. As is right in sheer delight, upon the wind in autumn flight.

Chanting a flutter in sing song tune to the forest, winds, sun and moon. Listen, hear their cheerful chorus, “Did you see us?” – “Did you see us?” Or do they sing deciduous?
